Carolyn Sue Bayliss

Carolyn Sue BAYLISS, age 83, of Kinsale, Virginia passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021. Carolyn was born May 19, 1938. Carolyn Sue Bayliss, 83, of Kinsale, VA passed away on July 22, 2021 at VCU Medical Center in Richmond VA. Born in Dyer, TN., she was youngest of four children by Charles and Johnnie Mae Goad. She married Robert A. Bayliss in November 1959, settling in Alexandria, VA. Carolyn worked as a legal secretary for the Department of the Navy before retiring in 1993. She was an avid gardener, excellent dancer and loved the Washington Nationals. Widowed in 1994 Carol has spent her retirement years in the Northern Neck region of Virginia with her companion of over 25 years, Gerry Slattery. Carolyn is survived by two sons, Robert Williams Bayliss of Alexandria, VA. and Jay Bayliss of Yardley, PA., three granddaughters and three great grandsons. Services will be held at Demaine Funeral Home, 520 S. Washington Street, Alexandria, VA. from 11:30 am to 12:30 on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 followed at 1PM with a graveside service at Mount Comfort Cemetery located at 6600 South Kings Highway in Alexandria.
