Virginia Rose Carlin “Ginny”, passed away in her home on December 19, 2024. She was born on July 23, 1958, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Robert Leo and Rose Marie Byrne. Ginny was a loving and supportive wife, mother, Nannie, sister, and friend who cherished her family above all else. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46 years, Knute Anthony Carlin “Tony”, her parents, and her mother-in-law, Geraldine Carlin.
She is survived by her daughters, Kristie Brockette (Eric) and Jennifer Jones (Wade); her grandchildren, Hannah and Abbie Brockette, and Graceyn, Logan, and Drake Jones; her siblings, Robbie, Beverly, Stevie, Angela, Barbara, and Brenda; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Ginny began a lifelong career in banking in 1976 and retired from Simmons Bank in 2020, where she made many lifelong friends and left a lasting impact with her dedication, hard work, and kind spirit.
Ginny’s warmth, humor, and unwavering love and support for her family defined her life. She was especially devoted to her grandchildren, often spending time with them in her pool or playing games. A lover of the simple things in life, Ginny enjoyed listening to music, watching and calling the Hogs, getting her nails done, watching soap operas, taking trips to the casino and most of all she never missed a chance to chat with family and friends on the phone. Ginny greatly loved her two cats, Lucky and Bandit, who were constant companions to her in her final years.
Ginny will be missed beyond measure by all who knew her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched. This obituary reflects her legacy of love, joy, and connection to her family and friends.
Memorial services will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Pinecrest Funeral Home. Family and friends will gather 30 minutes prior to the service for fellowship.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
