He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Skeet Morton, and only Daughter and Son-in-law, Lisa and Robert Doucet of Lewisville, Texas, and two grandsons, Clint Doucet and Cody Doucet of Lewisville, Texas. Preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Theta Morton and his sister, Betty Wiley.
After graduating from high school in Harrisonville, MO, he entered the Army, 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, NC where he became a paratrooper, jumping over 30 times out of C-119 Flying Boxcar airplanes. Bob was also stationed in Augsburg, Germany, where he made Mess Sergeant status. He was honorably discharged in December 1956, and he moved back to Atkins, AR where he met the love of his life, Skeet. They were married on February 2, 1958.
Bob graduated from the Journeyman Barbers International Educational School in 1959 and after a couple of jobs, he opened Bob’s Barber Shop.
For 36 years his career was cutting hair and making conversations with his customers. And it was all about the customers. If you lived in the Little Rock area, you probably got your hair cut at Bob’s Barber Shop. And then you brought your kids, then your grandkids, and maybe great grandkids. Bob loved people and many loved him.
Bob was known for his generosity, humor and kindness. He never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a hand. He loved vacationing with his family and after retirement, he and Skeet travelled the U.S. in their RV. He faithfully attended Geyer Springs First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.
