Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Ivan and Lucille Dupree. She attended Central High School, followed by Baptist Nursing. She spent 13 fulfilling years as a nurse at Baptist Hospital.
She enjoyed spending as much time as she possibly could chatting with loved ones and spoiling her grandkids and great grand baby. She enjoyed keeping up with everyone on Facebook and seeing all of the pictures and exciting life events. When she felt up to it, you would catch her working on something crafty or random sewing projects. She was great at uplifting people with kind words or the perfect bible verse. Marquitta truly tried to show love to everyone that she came in contact with and many of her kids’ friends considered her as a second mother.
She is survived by her husband, Dewane Free, her children and in-laws, Vance and Camie Free, Annette and Michael Wooley, Jennifer and Philip Hawkins, and Kimber Free, her grandchildren, Brandi and Seth Carpenter, Jacob Free, Jenna Davis, Sarah Free, and Parker Free, and her great grandchild, Sapphire Mulkey. She has two great grandchildren on the way. She was also survived by her sister, Kathy Penley.
She was predeceased by her mother and father, Lucille and Ivan Dupree, as well as her brothers, Gene and Ron Dupree.
