She was born on March 10, 1943 to Robert and Viola Mavis in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As a child she traveled from coast to coast with her mother and father, who was a professional baseball player, “Bobby Mavis”. She attended as many as six different schools in one year. The family settled in Little Rock and Karen attended and graduated from Little Rock Central High school where she was a cheerleader. She attended Arkansas State Teachers college in Conway and Little Rock University. She had two sons, Scot Worthington and Brent Worthington. She married Dale Dailey on September 24, 1988.
Karen had a thirty year career with Arkansas Electric Coop as an engineering secretary.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents and her son Scot Worthington.
She is survived by her husband, Dale Dailey; Son, Brent Worthington and wife Sunny Worthington; Daughter-in-Law, Lisa Worthington Long; Step Children, Michael Dailey and Daniel Dailey; Grandchildren, Lauren Worthington, Booth (Clayton), Lindsey Worthington, Dillon Worthington, Neil Worthington, Rachel Worthington, Sarah Worthington, Teagan Dailey, Brooke Hogue (Jake), Meagen Matuszyk and Sara Matuszyk.
Karen loved the Lord and was a charter member of The Summit Church of NLR.
Services will be held at Pinecrest Funeral Home, 7401 Highway 5 North, Alexander, AR, 72002. Visitation will begin at 11AM with funeral service to follow at 12PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
