James “Jim” M. Whitlow, 80, of Little Rock passed away Monday, May 4, 2020. Jim was born on April 25, 1940 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, the son of John Paul and Agnes Whitlow. Jim married his wife Milly Holloway Whitlow in 1965, sharing 54 years of marriage. Jim served his country by serving in the 39th infantry division of the Arkansas National Guard. Before retiring, Jim worked for 40 years at Phillips Men’s Store in downtown Little Rock. He enjoyed following the St. Louis Cardinals, as well as collecting baseball cards and traveling. He and his wife had visited all 50 states and many other places throughout the world. He was a member of 2nd Baptist Church in downtown Little Rock, and had served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher at his previous church.
Jim leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Milly, son Jeff and wife Ashley Whitlow, grandsons Connor and Noah Whitlow, his twin brother Sam Whitlow of Bryant, and his two sisters June Whitlow of Birmingham, Alabama and Nancy Whitlow of Alton, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday May 7, 2020 at Pinecrest Memorial park. Due to the current restrictions in place the service will be private, however, services will be livestreamed on Pinecrest Funeral Home & Memorial Park’s Facebook page. Jim’s family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his honor be made to 2nd Baptist Church of Little Rock.
