He was born on March 26, 1940 in Dyersburg, Tennessee. He called this home and cherished his trips back to visit his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert & Beniva Rambo Evans; brother, Billy Evans; sisters, Wynona Williams and Joann Kurkul; and step-daughter Kris Baldwin. Jim had a personality and heart that made him so special. He was always there to help anyone who was in need. His generosity came as natural to him as anything could.
He had such a passion for his friends, especially his best friend, Jay Westbrook. He never met a stranger and people were drawn to him because of his good nature. His real love was his work. He was an employee of J.A. Riggs Tractor Company for 44 years. He loved those big cats! He quickly made his way to the top. He held the position of Product Trainer and considered it to be a privilege to go out and teach and mentor young men that were building their careers. He treasured the ability to pass on the knowledge of all he had learned through the years. He truly was blessed to have a job that he loved so much.
He loved corvettes and gifted himself a brand new one for his retirement. He ordered and picked it up at the factory, and that was a beautiful day for him!
He loved being with his family and his friend. He always had the most logical advice – and he was always right!
He was just a joy to know and love!
He leaves behind his wife, Mary Kay; daughter, Tammi Evans Roberts of North Little Rock; step-daughters Marsha Gibson (Joey) of Hot Springs and Kerri Littleton (Chris) of Bryant; step-son, Steve Lewandowski (Jan) of Little Rock; one grandchild; 10 step-grandchildren; one step-great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews that he loved, as well.
He will be missed beyond measure and he will never be forgotten! His illness and sorrows will be washed away in the name of Jesus.
Until we meet again, love on the ones you’ve yearned to see for so long, and now you are in their arms.
May God continue to be with the family until we have the privilege to see him again.
