Dwayne ‘Dee’ Arrott of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away on September, 12th at the age of 81. Born on October 2, 1942, in Tennyson, Texas, to Virginia and James Arrott. Dee's life was a reflection of his deep faith in God, his unwavering commitment to family, and his desire to offer a heartfelt "papaw" hug to everyone he met.
Dee began his college journey at Southern Methodist University on a football scholarship. Unfortunately, a knee injury cut his athletic career short, leading him to transfer to Hardin-Simmons University, where he earned a degree in Business Administration. It was at Hardin-Simmons that Dee met his beloved wife of 57 years, Susan Carole Arrott.
Dee's professional life began in Roswell, New Mexico, where he worked in the cattle and oil industries. He later served as president of Prime Beef Feeders in Ulysses, Kansas, where he and Susan started their family and welcomed three daughters: Caroline, Heather, and Holly. The family eventually moved to Dallas, Texas, where Dee shifted his focus to entrepreneurship. He founded two successful businesses, AMACAB and Can Depot, before finding his passion for building relationships at Prestige Ford.
Dee was known for his generous bear hugs, his friendly demeanor, and his unwavering support for his grandchildren's activities. Raised with the values of a rancher, he held a deep love for his family, friends, and faith. He was often seen wearing his iconic turquoise bolo tie and Australian outback hat, always ready with a warm “Darlin’” for those he cherished.
Dee is preceded in death by his parents, James and Virginia Arrott, and his brothers, JB Arrott and Wayne Arrott, all of Bronte, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Susan Arrott; his daughters, Caroline Arrott Lakeman, Heather Fuller, and Holly Collins; his sons-in-law, Perry Lakeman, Bryan Fuller, and Danny Collins; and his beloved grandchildren, Molly Kate, Parker, and Jake Fuller, Peyton Ivy, Campbell, and Piper Collins.
Services will be held on September 16th at 3pm CST. Pinecrest Funeral Home and Memorial Park 7401 Highway 5N Alexander, AR 72002.
