Curtis was a family man who was faithful to keep his family involved in church. He and Mary were long-time members of South Highland Baptist Church, there he was involved in the youth group with his children. Later, they joined Indian Springs Baptist Church where they enjoyed being a part of XYZ Senior Adult group. After high school, Curtis joined the United States Air Force and eventually the Arkansas Air National Guard. During his time, he served in Korea and Japan but was primarily stationed in Jacksonville, Arkansas and was an aircraft mechanic. He retired as a Senior Master Sergeant after 42 years of faithful service to the Air Force and Air National Guard.
Curtis enjoyed travelling to Branson, Missouri, working on mechanic projects with his brother-in-laws; and was an avid hunter and fisher. He was also a 32nd degree mason and was a Past Master at the Westwood Lodge. He was currently a member of the Alumina Lodge 574.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 70 years, Mary Watson; son, Glen Watson and wife Lisa; son-in-law, Don Bennett; grandchildren: Jennifer Thompson, Jeffrey Bennett and wife Mandy, Karli Marie Watson, and Abigail Rose Watson; great grandchildren: Garrett Franklin Thompson, Kylie Grace Lawson, and Colton Lee Bennett; brother-in-law, Clyde Smith; and numerous extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lee Ann Bennett; parents, Young and Annie Mae Watson; brothers: T.J. Watson and James Watson; sisters: Lillian Juanita Crook, Murl Doris Watson, and Ruby Sue Smith.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 10:00 am at Indian Springs Baptist Church with a visitation one hour prior at 9:00 am. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
