Carolyn Sue (Passmore) Beck, lovingly known as “Aunt Sue” by so many, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2024. Born March 29, 1959, Sue was a retired Kindergarten teacher from the Bryant School District, where she spent decades inspiring and encouraging countless young minds with her wisdom, patience, and unwavering kindness. She referred to them as her kids.
Sue’s life was marked by her boundless love, her joyful spirit, and the way she made every person feel special. She brought joy to everything she did and to everyone she met. Her love of traveling with her special friends was some of her best times. Whether exploring new places or sharing stories from her past adventures, she embraced the beauty of the world around her and encouraged others to do the same.
An avid reader, Sue found comfort, adventure, and knowledge in the pages of books. Her curiosity and love of learning were unmatched, and she delighted in sharing her favorite stories with others.
To so many, she wasn’t just “Sue or even Mrs. Beck”—she was a beloved sister, sister-in-law, aunt, co-worker, neighbor, best friend, bunco player and chauffeur. Her generous heart and welcoming nature created a community of people who loved and adored her.
Leaving to cherish her many memories are her brother David (Suzanne), a nephew who she loved bragging about Ethan,(Natalie). Her sister in law’s Traci Goodwin (Robbie) and Karen Mays (Greg). Niece, Jennifer Goodwin and nephew Adam (Laura) Goodwin along with her “greats” that she was so proud of. She was intentional about spending quality time with them where no rules applied.
Growing up, Sue formed a special bond with her brother, David. Only 15 months apart, the two were inseparable, walking through life’s challenges and triumphs together.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Pat and Joy Passmore, her beloved husband, Bruce Beck, and many others who are undoubtedly welcoming her into heaven.
Aunt Sue leaves behind a legacy of love, joy, and encouragement. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and her influence will continue to inspire us to live fully, love deeply, and find joy in life’s little moments.
In lieu of flowers, Sue requested others join her in helping kids through the Bryant Youth Assn or the Kids Closet.
