Allan was born 20 years before me to the day (January 6). He was that rare person who seemed to never meet a stranger. He was always friendly, gracious and kind. 
As one of my first instructors at UALR, he will always represent the best of my years as a student there. In addition, I was privileged to know his wife and children as well as his friend Albert Porter and Mr. Porters family. My experiences with them almost 50 years ago remain a shining beacon of the best of humanity. 

The Treatment Homes family expresses our sympathy to Allan Jr. and the Ward family.  Allan was a board member for Treatment Homes Inc. for over 20 years and he served on multiple nonprofit boards in the city.  He served in many roles on the board including vice president and most notably a strong supporter of the Gingerbread Extravaganza.  He assisted his longtime friend Albert Porter in transporting thousands of gingerbread houses over the years.  He "assisted" because he didn't meet the standard for assembling the gingerbread houses, according to Mr. Porter.   Not many of us did!!
Allan attended every Christmas party for the foster children, the anniversary celebrations and all of the picnics.  He was very supportive of our mission and considered the foster children a priority.  Thank you Allan for helping us to make a difference!!  We appreciate the family for sharing Allan with us for so many years.  He will truly be missed!!
