Steve was born and raised in North Vancouver where he attended primary and high school. He later attended Columbia college before venturing into the business world. Steve spent a career working in community newspapers. He was the owner of the Royal City Record and later an owner of Cap-it Surrey. He volunteered his time in a number of associations, becoming president of the BC Community Newspaper association, president of the Downtown New Westminster association and vice president of Kennedy Surrey little league. A well-loved man, Steve enjoyed meeting new people from every facet of his life while maintaining old friendships from childhood.
Steve was a master at home improvement and could repair anything. He enjoyed barbecuing for family and friends and never saw a campfire he did not like. Steve was an avid golfer, angler and never missed a Canucks or Lions game. Steve was known for his quick wit and love for teasing friends. He was always happy to give his assistance to anyone who needed it. His love for animals also gave him many four legged friends throughout his life.
His parents Paul and Helen and his brother Allan preceded Steve in death. He is survived by his wife Lorraine, his 2 daughters Cari and Katie, son Kenny, son-in-law Ken, daughter-in-law Colleen, grandchildren Emelie, Owen, Zoee, Evan and Colton and also many other family and friends.
Steve will be sorely missed by his family and many friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022 from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm at Westfield Country Golf (formerly Eaglequest Coyote Creek Golf), 7758 152nd St, Surrey, BC.
