Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Ruth Cole; beloved daughter and son-in-law Bianca and John Parker; cherished number one buddy - grandson, Reid Coleman Parker; brother, Walter Cole; sister, Melba Hutcherson; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Linda and Joseph Cowart. Nieces and nephews, Heidi and George Buxton and their daughters, Betsy Wepfer and Sarah Rager; Jeffrey and Molly Hutcherson; Laurel Cowart and her daughter Cristina and son Logan; Holly and Dustin Booksh and their son Bryn.
Charles served in the United States Army for three years. He was employed by National Cash Register Company for 10 years and then earned his Pilot's License and various other flying certifications and flew as a charter pilot for many years. In addition he owned and managed rental property in the Louisville area.
He was a member of Broadway Baptist Church, Maryville, having served as a Deacon and on various committees. He asked to be remembered as a man who loved his God, loved his family and was the proud "Dabaddy" of Reid.
The family extends their love and thanks especially to the staff of Chestnut House and others on the Asbury Place campus who took care of Charles; and who loved both Charles and Ruth.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00pm on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at Broadway Baptist Church, 2329 E Broadway Ave, Maryville, TN 37804, a Celebration of Charlie's Life will follow at 6:00pm, officiated by Pastor Tony Collins. There will be a graveside service at 1:00pm on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Sherwood Chapel and Memorial Gardens, 3176 Airport Highway.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be given to the "Greater Vision" building fund of Broadway Baptist Church.
