William Charles Knapp age 68 of Homer passed away in his home under the loving care of his family on Saturday, January 19, 2019. He was born April 10, 1950 in Albion, Michigan the son of Roland and Doris (Sommers) Knapp. His parents precede him in death along with his brother, Richard Knapp and his first wife, Donna Washburn. Donna’s son (William’s Step-son) Ken (Angie) Washburn survive that relationship along with his children, Cindy and Erin Washburn.
William married Luanne (Grudzien) Richardson on May 12, 1995 in Marshall and she survives. He was employed with Albion Malleable (Harvard Industries) for 33 years in various positions, also employed with Union Steel for some time. He enjoyed farming, motorcycling, playing cards, square dancing and had a quirky sense of humor. William attended KCC and earned an Associate’s Degree in Accounting. He attended West Eckford Missionary Church and Caring Community Church.
In addition to his loving wife of 23 years, William also leaves step-daughter, Dawn (Rodney II) Masternak, Step-sons, M. Joseph (Shar) Roblee, Nathan Taylor; grandchildren: Michelle, Melodie Roblee, Logan, Lauren Taylor, Juliann, Zachary Masternak, sister, Carol (Rex) Lambright; nephews: Duane (Gloria) Lambright, Greg (Dawn) Lambright, Marty Lambright and many grand nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, January 23rd from 4-7 PM at the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr., Albion. Services to be held on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Caring Community Church, 1015 Irwin Ave., Albion with Rev. Steve A. Shafe officiating.
Cremation will follow and burial of ashes will take place at a later date in Clarendon Twp. Cemetery, Homer.
