Tommie was born October 13, 1947, in Albion, MI to the late Dorothy Lee (Ridley) Gamble and Hezekiah Ross. “Dimples” attended Albion Public School and graduated from Albion Senior High School. She then went on to attend and graduate from Wright Beauty Academy in Battle Creek, MI, and would spend several years doing hair out of her house and making occasional house calls. Throughout her life, she was also employed by Hayes Albion, Albion K-Mart, Denso Manufacturing, and Team One Plastics where she worked until she retired.
Tommie enjoyed going for car rides, decorating her home, especially during the fall and Christmas holidays, cooking, and spending time with her friends and family. She loved watching game and court shows on TV as well as action and comedic movies.
She is survived by her husband and partner of 47 years, Michael L. Wright of Albion, MI; children, Erick (Stacy) Williams of Lansing, MI, Michelle Stein-Washington of Albion, MI, and Alexis (Nathan) Berg of Albion, MI, and Johnny Ross of Detroit, MI; step-siblings, Mary Gamble of Albion, MI, and Wesley Gamble of Indianapolis, IN, sister-in-law Delores Campbell of Flint MI: 15 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and special friend, Marsha Walker.
Tommie was preceded in death by a daughter, Phyllis Washington, her parents, and special friend Betty Johnson.
Services will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023, at the First Baptist Church, 980 Haven Rd. Albion, MI 49334. Family Hour will take place from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Funeral Service will follow beginning at 12:00PM. Burial will follow at Albion Memory Gardens Cemetery. Services are entrusted to J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr. Albion, MI 49224.
