Robert B. Gregg “Butch” age 99 passed away Sunday, November 9, 2014 in St. Ignace, MI. He was born November 15, 1914 in Homer, MI the son of Bert and Lillian (Ballentine) Gregg. He married Margaret Conley on July 7, 1936 in Angola, Indiana and she preceded him in death.
Robert was owner operator of Robert Gregg Construction, served on the Homer Fire Department as Fire Chief for over 30 years of service as well as serving as a Calhoun County Sheriff for a few years. Robert also had a very successful business as a dairy equipment sales representative selling Surge Bucket Milkers and was the first rep for Michigan for the company. In addition to his loving wife, Margaret, Robert is also preceded in death by his parents, son, David Gregg, brothers, Donald and Duane Gregg and son-in-law, Jack Swope. Robert leaves to cherish his memory daughter, Beverly Swope, grandson, David (Lisa) Swope, 2 great grandchildren, Corey and Chelsea all of St. Ignace.
Robert's family will Celebrate his life with Visitation on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 from 10 AM to 12 PM at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr., Albion, MI directly followed by a procession and Graveside Service at Fairview Cemetery in Homer where he'll be laid to rest next to his wife with Pastor Timothy Marvil of the First Presbyterian Church of Homer officiating.
