Opal Wellman

On February 26, 1944 in Pikeville, Kentucky, she married Bert J. Wellman who preceded her in death.

Opal spent a lot of her time in Kentucky and West Virginia before they moved to Albion. Opal went to

work in the food service department for Albion College where she retired at the age of 81. She was

a member of Christ Apostolic Church in Albion where she was a devoted member and friend to all.

She enjoyed cooking for her family for Sunday dinners, sewing, crocheting and quilting.

And most of all the love for her grandchildren.

Opal is survived by her children Sue (Mike) Trine, Kathy Smith and Ruth Chapman; many grandchildren,

great grand-children and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband

Bert Jack Wellman, sons David, Larry and Rev. Robert Wellman; daughter Charlene Brown.

Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday, May 24, 2018 from 1:00 – 2:00PM at Christ Apostolic

Church, 503 N. Superior Street, Albion with Funeral Service starting at 2:00PM with Reverend David Trammell and Terron Erwin officiating. Interment to follow at Albion Memory Gardens.
