Lou Ann Stringham, aged 79, from Albion, Michigan, peacefully passed away on May 28, 2024, at Ascension Borgess Place in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She was born on August 15, 1944, in Hillsdale, Michigan, to Stanley Hunn and Clara Louella Stringham of Camden, Michigan.
She attended Camden Frontier High School, where she was actively involved in the Band, Basketball team, and served as the Editor of the Yearbook. Lou Ann was also an engaged member of the Camden Methodist Church, participating actively in the youth group and parish.
Following her high school graduation on May 31, 1962, Lou Ann aspired to pursue higher education away from home. She enrolled in Christian College, now known as Columbia College, an all-girls institution in Columbia, Missouri, graduating with an Associate's degree in Art on June 2, 1964.
After college, Lou Ann returned to Albion, Michigan, and commenced her professional journey at Albion College. For the next five years, she dedicated herself to supporting her parents, particularly her mother who was battling breast cancer, and later served as a devoted caregiver to her father.
Lou Ann had a profound love for animals, particularly dogs, and cherished her faithful companion, Bonnie. She was also known for her resourcefulness, often attempting to fix things herself before seeking professional help. In 2013, Lou Ann embraced Catholicism and found solace in attending Mass regularly.
Fascinated by computers, she pursued further education at Kellogg Community College, earning an Associate's degree in Computer Science. Lou Ann then worked for the MACI corporation in Parma, Michigan, until her retirement in 2009.
A passionate sports enthusiast, Lou Ann enjoyed watching various sports, with a particular zeal for University of Michigan Wolverines football. She shared a special bond with her brother Ben, engaging in lively discussions about sports and politics, comparing stats and plays during game days.
Lou Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley Hunn and Clara Luella Stringham, her brother Ben Rowe Stringham, sister-in-law Mary Margurite Stringham, and nephew Steven Rowe Stringham. She is survived by her nieces, Wendy Warner (Brett) of Richland, Michigan, and Lisa Zimmerman (Eli) of Dowling, Michigan, along with great-nephews Brenden and Garrett Warner, and great-niece Julia Warner.
