She was born October 27, 1950 in Concord, Michigan the daughter of Kermit Junior and Dorothy Leona (Walker) Oliphant. She married Merlin “Merl” Coburn in 1993 and he preceded her in death on July 9, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Kermit Oliphant and Dorothy Fox.
Joyce was a very loving woman with a heart of gold and great sense of humor. She loved to laugh and will be fondly remembered for her quick wit and smile that was larger than life. She was truly one in a million and loved her family deeply, especially her children and grandchildren. She also loved Rod Stewart, traveling, particularly to Tennessee, Georgia and Missouri to visit family and loved going out to eat with her best girlfriends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Joyce leaves to cherish her memory, son, Michael (Missy) Combs, daughter, Crystal Combs, 6 grandchildren: Kiertsen, Jordyn, Dylan, Amathyst, Jayden and Jasper, 8 great-grandchildren, siblings: Jackie (Lynette) Oliphant, JoAnn Generi, Jeania (Perry) Brown, Judy (Doug) Stephens and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Joyce’s family will celebrate her life with a graveside service on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 3PM at Albion Memory Gardens with Pastor Jimmy Collins officiating.
