Joan Adams

Joanne Adams, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Bickford of Saginaw Township Assisted Living and Memory Care in Saginaw, Michigan. Joanne was born December 25, 1934 to William D. and Naomi I. (McCullough) Carr. On July 19, 1952 she married Robert (Bob) Adams and they had 64 wonderful years together before Bob’s death in 2016.

Joanne is survived by her children; Bob and Karen Adams, Albion, Sherri and Larry Unsworth, Saginaw and Bill and Robyn Adams, Albion; grandchildren, Rob and Kris Adams, Virginia, Chad and Lindsay Adams, Albion, Jon and Chelsey Unsworth, Bay City, Hannah Adams, Albion and Karleigh Adams, Albion; great-grandchildren William, Charlie, Claire, Max, Avery, Grace and Jake; her sister Joyce (Carr) Wasick, Albion and many loving nieces, nephews and relatives. A special thanks for their loving care and support for the past six years to Stephanie Altenberger, Tennessee (formerly of Parma), the Bickford of Saginaw Township staff and Don Lown, hospice RN from The Care Team Greater Saginaw-Midland-Bay City area.

In addition to her husband, Joanne was also preceded in death by her parents, sisters Jean Wheeler and Jane Smith, and brothers William (Buck) Carr and John Carr.

Joanne retired from the Michigan Employment Security Commission in 1997. She lived for her family and created so many wonderful memories for everyone through the years. Joanne enjoyed her home and flowers and could and did tackle almost any project inside and outside of her home while looking like she just stepped out of the beauty salon. And, she was even more beautiful on the inside.

Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, June 20th, 2023 at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, located at 811 Finley Dr, Albion, with Reverend Steve Shafe officiating. Visitation with the family will be Monday, June 19th, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be held the following day on Tuesday, June 20th, 2023 with visitation from 10:00 am to 11:00 am and service beginning at 11:00 am.
