Dear Jim and your Loved Ones,    You are locked lovingly in our hearts today and all days as we remember along with you, your Beloved Son,  Kevin. There never are words adequate at a time like this. It was with deep grief that I learned of Kevin's passing.  All of you are in my prayers.  

     I worked with Kevin and the rest of the Tidd family at the Tidd-Williams Funeral Chapel in Albion, MI, during the 80's.  It was one of the best experiences I ever had, and they were like my second family.
     I knew Kevin when he was still in high school, and I found him to be a wonderful, polite, funny, yet serious when necessary, and a delight to be around.  He was definitely brought up right.
     As a co-worker of Kevin's and the rest of the family, I witnessed people being treated with respect and compassion, which I know Kevin carried forward to the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home.
     I was so shocked and saddened to learn of Kevin's passing, as were my  two daughters who babysat for his children when they lived above the Homer chapel.  We send our love and prayers to all the Tidd family, and to Nancy and her family.  May God hold you all in the palm of His hand and give you peace during this very difficult time and beyond.  Rest in peace, Kevin....we will all see you again.

I believe that Kevin has touched almost every family in Albion.  He was the face that took care of grief stricken people.  I might add that he did it with the most personal caring heart.  He had a way with people and never pushed or rushed anyone through the decisions that needed to be made.  He offered his suggestions,  and I might add they were very good ones, he truly knew his business

Kevin was truly an Angel on earth!  How many times I found out all the wonderful things he did for my parents on Causey Court..  Kevin , I wish I could thank you just one more time.   You were such a good friend, a good soul and more thoughtful than anyone I know. You will be missed so, very much. Our hearts are hurting!

Kevin was “Vice Mayor” of Causey  Court  After Covid arrived, we we began having a “Street Meet. We would take our lawn chairs out to the street and sit in a circle and talk. Kevin loved it As the neighborhood fixit guy, there wasn’t a house on our street that hadn’t been blessed by his magic. In the picture,Kevin is sitting on the right. I am so grateful that God chose to share Kevs life with me. Not only was he a special cousin, but he was a great friend and confidant. I learned many things from Kevin. His kindness showed in everything he did. He taught me how to handle the loss of loved ones, he also taught me how to love the lost. We had many times of laughter and many times of tears. His generosity, was over the top. Many times, when I would call him, he was in the middle of helping his neighbors. He was a friend to all. My greatest prayer is that those who love him the most, cherish the memories and share his story with others. May God bless you all, in this hour of need. I looked through all of our photos to find a Jellystone moment captured on film and this was it.  The adventures of Kevin, Butch, and Rex are a part of our growing up.  Campfire gathering, Sunday morning truck stop breakfasts, the countless miles of being the chauffeur to those three visiting garage sales all over Indiana so I could drive.  Waking up in the travel trailer with Kevin asking me to make daiquiris for the group or the constant teasing about boys.  I’ve always thought of the Tidd’s as the cousins I always wanted especially with all of our shared memories.  I always will remember my Dad bragging to the nurses at the hospital that the mortician was picking him up when he would get discharged from Albion hospital and how he would laugh when Kevin walked through the door.  Thank you, Kevin, for so many fun memories growing up.  Hugs to Ken, Amanda, and the rest of the family.  Kevin will be missed.

This was taken last March. If I remember correctly, I had just stopped over to visit. I'm sure gonna miss you.

I grew up with Kevin as he and his family was our neighbor. So many neighborhood baseball,basketball and football  games.We were drummer’s in high school and graduated together. Kevin was always a friend first and funeral director second. So thankful he was there when I needed him. Recently we got to hang out with Kevin and Nancy a couple times in Florida and Kevin came to Saturday morning pancakes at Dads house   My Dad called him his 6th son The storm took from us a true human being My heart goes out to Nancy and Kevin’s family. I will never forget you my friend, you were truly one of a kind.

My Heart is truly broken! Kevin was one of a kind. He always had a joke for me when I delivered flowers to the funeral home. Kevin you truly were one of the best Men I’ve ever known. Rest In Peace My Friend!  You will forever be in my heart and memories. 💔

Kevin, would see me a local funeral's and he would ask when are you going to Retire from the State and be a part of his Team. I stated to say, I will let you know, so when I did retired, I took my resume to the office, and yes he was in Florida.  I learned a lot from Kevin in many ways, how to conducted a funeral services, consoling family members.  To the Family hold Kevin memories in your heart, he will be missed by you and many families that he has help over the years. I will continue to pray for J. Kevin Tidd Family.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss for the Tidd family.  Kevin was an amazing man. He went above and beyond for my mom and my family when my step dad passed away.  Which was hard be a classmate of his. But his heartfelt calls after and checking in and the last request my step dad asked he did with no hesitations. I will never forget the kindness and loving heart he had.

  This is the 4th or the 5th time I’ve attempted this.  With that I’m mind I’m sure this will be worse than my original. For that I apologize.  This goes out to the amazing guy who would sharpen my knives, who had amazing jokes including when it comes to my wife( lol inside joke), the only guy who could shoot 110 birds out of 100 with 750fps shells, and let’s not forget the deer at 100 yards with a .357… Thats the man, myth, and the legend.. He’s also one of my best friends.  I will stand beside you as you would stand beside me. Ms. Nancy will will not have to worry about anything while In Sanibel.  To my friend i will miss you and those “totties” that were kept down stairs.  Those talks that made my day just spending time with you. The laughs we had,the money we never bet on the birds that would fly because I f do not bet. The stories ment the most as with your laugh. There’s so much to say though at the same not enough words in the dictionary or thesaurus that can describe you.  I thank you for that, for being you. My friend I’ll always love you, remember you, and will always  celebrate you.   Your pool guy and 100% friend.  

I’ll never forget Kevin calling me up on the phone in 6th grade and playing Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond so I could hear it.  He always called me Reni whenever I saw him. Seeing him at KCC with the guys those couple of years were the best. And then he was there for comfort at  Mom and Dad’s passings with the plannings just as they wanted him to be. They thought so much of him. Fly high dear friend until we meet again.

I remember the times he would give me a tour of the home in Homer as we stayed across the street. We loose a very kind and loving man who always showed his sympathy in the funeral home. I am stunned to hear this along with being very sad. I meant Kevin back in 1988 when I worked for Forethought and Batesville Casket Company. We became great friends. He was on my first customer trip to the infamous farm in Batesville. I have many fun memories of him. In fact he taught me how to make a neat martini. Godspeed.

Car pooled to KCC with Kevin back in the day. He was the only one who knew what he wanted to be after college. I remember he always kept his car in perfect condition. We had some good conversations and listened to some great music on our drives back and forth to Battle Creek.  Later on he handled my uncle’s funeral. Solid guy his whole life and  will be missed.

Kevin was a awesome person and very kind to our whole family. He would hug us and ask how we are doing. He always had a kind word for you. I use to tell Kevin when he was working to look at my face and I wanted to look like this as if I was still alive and we we would laugh  . He was a caring  person because when I saw him last he came by to see my sister Beverly Robinson before she passed. Kevin will always be miss so Fly High J Kevin Tidd until we all meet again. We are so sad to hear about Kevin’s passing. During Covid we spent many socially distanced happy hours in our driveway and he shared many things with me. He felt deeply and I saw how hard it was for him to let his feelings surface. His work clearly brought him close to people’s pain every day and I saw the toll it took on him. My clearest memory is him tearing up when he spoke of his children and how proud he was of them. I know he’d want them to feel his love and pride now. Sending our deepest condolences 

Kevin served many, many families with compassion during his calling as a funeral director. I was blessed when he invited me to be on his TEAM. He became a true friend to me and the George Turner family. We are saddened to hear of his passing. We had a conversation not too long ago. No one knows the day or the hour when death will come knocking on our door. The community has lost a dear and compassionate friend. We grieve with his family and know that God makes no mistakes. We all have our appointed time. Ecclesiastes 3:2 

As a newbie to Sanibel, Causey Court neighbors are the best you can ask for.
Kevin was always ready & generous to help whether lending his skills or his tools. 
Thinking I may never see Kevin waving & driving his Pearl Denali down our street again is something I never considered before I evacuated. 
He was one of the last people I was in touch with.
Kevin will forever reign as King of Causey Court.

Kevin has been there many times for my family over the years. First met him when I worked as a florist in Albion.  Have many memories of his kindness for many family members and friends.

Kevin was a very caring and compassionate man. He was in the right business. When we met with him about my mothers arrangements he cried right along with us. He will be greatly missed. RIH
