Grace E Vliek

Grace Emma Vliek age 92 of Bellevue passed away on March 15, 2023 in Battle Creek under the loving care of her family and hospice. She was born December 25, 1930 at her family’s home in Northern Michigan the youngest and only daughter born to Arthur and Pearl (Glassley) McCrimmon. She is the last of her immediate family, her parents and four brothers preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joe Vliek in 1990 and a daughter-in-law, Sigi Vliek in 2020 and two son in laws, Chuck Querio in 1978 and Ike Eaton 1998.

Grace was an incredibly feisty, strong independent woman. She was a member of the VFW, the UAW and was employed with General Motors for 25 years. She was a wonderful cook earning her the title “Best Cook of Barry County”, fondly remembered for a lot of great dishes, but especially homemade fried chicken and noodles.

Grace is survived by her children: Dan Vliek, Debbie Eaton, Joanne Querio, Gayle Vliek, Linda Potter; 8 grandchildren: Jackie Wirebaugh, Nicole Ehlers, Tony Querio-Smith, Scott Querio, Joe Vliek, Diana Bailey, Chad Potter, David Potter and 17 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on 4/8/23 at 1:00 p.m. located at 9100 Baseline Rd Battle Creek, 49017.
