Geraldine McCullough age 92 of Lakeland, FL formerly of Albion passed away November 1, 2016 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Lakeland, FL. She was born October 7, 1924 to Herbert and Estella (Wood) Prue in Pontiac, Michigan. On September 24, 1977 she married George McCullough who survives.
Geraldine was a 1943 graduate of Washington Gardner School in Albion, worked as an Election Official, was a member of the Hospital Service League, secretary of the Women’s Bowling Association for 4 years and was a Girl Scout Leader. Geraldine was caring and compassionate and was a loving, dedicated wife and mother who loved holidays and made sure her family felt her love at the holidays as well. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed cooking, knitting, crocheting, traveling, games, cards, decorating and being a hostess.
In 1944, Geraldine married Howard “Doc” Spencer; to that union were born daughters, Sandra (Mark) MacDonald of Michigan and Vicki (Roy) Creech of Kentucky. In 1956, she married Lyle Thompson; to that union were born daughters, Katherine (Ron) Klein of Michigan and Rebecca (Scott) Blodgett of Michigan.
In addition to her loving husband of 39 years, George, and her children, Geraldine is also survived by 9 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Agnes Dean, brothers Lee, Clarence, Kenneth and Bernard Prue and grandson, Jasin Gonzalez.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, November 10, 2016 from 6 to 8 PM with a Rosary at 7:00PM at the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive, Albion. Funeral Service will be held Friday, November 11th at 11:00AM with visitation 1 hour prior at St. John Catholic Church, 1020 Irwin Avenue, Albion with Father Joe Gray officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
