85 of Albion, Michigan died Saturday, April 5, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 19, 1928 in Eckford Township, Michigan, the daughter of Ivo E. Face and Marjorie Bentley Face. She married Nicholas P. Costianes, August 26, 1951.
Frances served 12 years as Albion's 4th Precinct City Council Member, 8 of her 12 years
as Mayor Pro-Tem. In addition to being a full-time homemaker, she spent many years volunteering with the Camp Fire Girls and Boys organization, the Festival of the Forks, including the Greek food booth for 27 years, United Way, Albion Downtown, Inc., Chamber of Commerce, Albion Civic Foundation Ball, North (Caldwell) Elementary School P.T.A., South Albion 4-H Club, Albion High School Band Boosters, 13 years as Presbyterian Church Sunday School teacher, a Red Cross 4 gallon blood drive donor, Calhoun County Alternatives Program, Albion Ambulance Sponsor-Member Committee, Albion Health Care Alliance Benefit Ball Committee, and served 6 times on jury duty. She enjoyed cooking, golfing, dancing, playing cards and watching TV.
She is survived by her husband, Nicholas; daughters, Pauline (Lou) Aronica of Canton,
MI; Christine Costianes of Fishers, IN and Kathleen Costianes of Seminole, FL;
Sisters, Doris Bramble of Albion, Helen Banfield of Marshall, MI; brothers, Russell Face
of Marshall, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Donald and Neil Face.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church, 305 E. Porter Street, Albion, Michigan 49224. Cremation has taken place and Interment will be in Fort Custer National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church
of Albion or Albion Elk’s Lodge #1798 or Marshall Oaklawn Hospice.
