Barbara Jean McCune

Barbara Jean McCune age 95 of Henderson, NV passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2022 in Las Vegas under the loving care of her family and hospice. She was born October 30, 1927 in Albion the daughter of Reinhold and Mary (Frisk) Shifkey.

She married Melvin McCune and he preceded her in death on May 17, 2008. She is also preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters and 1 brother.

Barbara loved sewing, crocheting and quilting until her failing eyesight would no longer allow her to do those things. She was employed for over 25 years at Starr Commonwealth in Albion until her retirement, but at age 82, went to work at the Rite-Aid in Jackson where she loved to work and they (customers and employees) enjoyed her as well.

Barbara leaves to cherish her memory, son, Dennis (Valerie) McCune of Sarasota, FL, daughter, Sherry McCune, 2 grandchildren, Sean McCune, Damon (Jennifer) McCune and 2 great-grandchildren, Erin and Madison.

According to her wishes, no services are scheduled at this time and she will be laid to rest next to her husband in Riverside Cemetery in Albion. The family is being served locally by J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr., Albion.
