He was born April 6, 1943 in Bridgeport, IL to Julliett “Judy” (Pierson) and Herschel Berten Thompson. He married Barbara Hamilton on June 5, 1965 at the Ellery Christian Church, and she survives. Jimmie worked at Brown Chevrolet for 12 years, Lincoln Auto Supplies for 14 years, and at Kincaid Hardware. He was a member of the Ellery Christian Church and the Farm Bureau.
Jimmie is survived by his wife Barbara of Ellery; one daughter, Marsha (Mark) Runyon of Olney, IL; two sons: Ed (Kim) Thompson of Albion and Craig (Stacy) Thompson of Ellery; two brothers: S.L. (Jane) Thompson of Lincoln, IL and Herschel (Debbie) Thompson, Jr. of Springfield, IL; and nine grandchildren: Trystin and Chance Runyon, Trenton and Tori Thompson, and Tyce, Tara, Ezra, Kayci, and Henry Thompson. He was proceeded in death by his parents and one brother, Paul.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 25, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home in Albion. Funeral service will be Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow at Graceland Cemetery in Albion.
Memorials may be made to Ellery Christian Church, and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
