Eugene "Sparky" Parks

He was born November 10th, 1932 in Monticello, Indiana a son of Marion W. and Garnett (McNary) Parks. He was a graduate of Albion, Illinois high school. He married Sharon R. Kennedy on July 23rd, 1977 in Albion, Illinois.

Previously he lived in Homer, MI and served as a Village Trustee for 12 years over the Sewer and Water Departments and served a Mayor Protem. He served as a Scout Master and was assistant Scout Master at the National Jamboree in 1964, also was District Chairman and member of Land of Lakes Counsel. Eugene was awarded the Silver Beaver medal for services rendered in scouting.

Eugene managed several manufacturing pants and was one of the founding fathers of Hella North America and Hella North American Lighting; He then was Vice President and Manager of Hella Electronic where he retired on September 1st, 2001, after 22 years of service.

He is survived by his wife Sharon of Albion, IL, sons; David (Julie) Parks of Salina, KS, Patrick Parks of Indianapolis, IN, Timothy Parks of Florida, step children; Sherry Dillard of Mt. Vernon, IN and Bill Kennedy of Bridgeport, IL, several grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents, son Douglas Parks, stepson Roger Conlin, brothers Marvin Parks and Marion Parks, Jr.

Services for Eugene H. “Sparky” Parks will be conducted at 2PM Wednesday, July 1st, 2015 at the Ingram Funeral Home in Albion, Illinois. Visitation will be from 12 noon Wednesday, July 1st, 2015 until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be conducted at a later date.
