Shirley was born on August 25, 1947 in Mobile, AL. She graduated from South High School in 1965 and went on to receive her nursing license in 1971 practicing nursing at Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital for over 23 years in Akron, OH. Shirley was a faithful member of The House of the Lord and a 1990 graduate of the Logos Bible Institute. She served in the Maintenance Ministry for many years on Saturday mornings. In 2000 she married Charles W. Bristol. Shirley’s friendly personality gained her many friends. Her witty personality and wisdom always made people laugh and she loved to talk so she never met a stranger. If you spent any time in her presence it was guaranteed that you were asked the question that she asked everyone: Are you saved and do you know Jesus? She was a bold, strong witness for the Gospel and wanted to make sure that everyone she met went to Heaven. That was her passion and life’s mission that her family and friends have a personal relationship with Jesus, get to know Him and get to Heaven.
Shirley was good at arts and crafts. She enjoyed making unique gifts for people that came from her heart . No two gifts were exactly alike. She made money trees for Christmas where each branch was a dollar bill or if you were lucky enough to get on her gift list you may have received a sock with money, snacks, and personal care items in it. In 2016, Shirley moved to Atlanta, GA to be closer to her daughter Tracy where she made many new friends where she resided until the time of her heavenly transition.
Shirley was preceded in death by her mother Mae B. Williams, step-father, Edmund G. Williams, sisters Peggy A. Daniels, Betty A. Moore. To celebrate the memory of her life Shirley leaves her children, Tracy (Thomas) Crumby of Stone Mountain, GA, Aljia Sheppard of Akron, OH; sister Anneis Daniels, step-brother Ashley Williams, brother-in-law James Moore, all of Akron, OH; grandsons Brandon (Shawnta) Daniels of Dallas, TX; infant granddaughter Laylah Sheppard; great-grandchildren, Amya, Davon & Breasia, and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives, The House of the Lord family, and dear friends.
