It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kay Peterson on September 27, 2024, at the age of 75. Kay was born on September 19, 1949 in Akron, Ohio, to Melvin and Gwen (Segerlund) Peterson.
Kay graduated from Firestone High School in 1967. Kay went on to graduate from the University of Akron with a bachelor of education degree in 1971, and then completed her masters of education at the University of Akron in 1974. She worked as an elementary school teacher in Akron Public Schools before an early retirement. She loved telling stories about her time as a teacher.
Along with many family members, Kay was an active and beloved member of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church in Akron.
