I was Hetta's neighbor for 14 years.  We would take walks in the neighborhood together when my children were little.  She always made chocolate candies for the kids at Christmas time.  I moved out 19 years ago, but we continued to exchange Christmas cards every year.  When my kids were little we used to hid their Christmas presents in the basment of her house. One year we hid bikes there for the kids. After that, they never bothered to snoop anymore because they always thought the presents were at her house!

Hetta was such a sweet person.  She will be deeply missed.

I was 3 years married, in my new house almost a year, with a new 7 month old baby when Hetta became my first friend in Copley. That was in August of 1973 and we continued our friendship all these years. She was not just a friend, but a mentor, helping me in so many ways, giving me her wisdom and perspective on a variety of topics. I will miss her voice, her Christmas and birthday cards, and her just being herself. She was who she was. She didn't pretend to be anyone but herself. And I loved her for that. And for her friendship over the years.I feel the loss but we shall meet again, in a better, no a perfect place--heaven.

I have known Hetta for 52 years,since I married into the Badgett name.As life has it,my home visits to her became fewer,but we talked often on the phone.We laughed many times about life and cried.I am thankful I had her in my path of life.She is in Heaven now.

Well Phyllis it has been a long time since we worked together at Red Cross during the 1980's.  We didn't get back together until 2005+ when I saw you at the Wadsworth Library.  I retired on 9/30/10.  I see you are a grandmother now.

My sympathy to you and your family on the death of your mother.
