She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church for many years. Edna worked a wide range of paid jobs including positions at People's (Akron General) Hospital/Akron Orthopedic Brace Shop, Polsky's and Top Vending but her most important jobs were being a wife and a mother. While raising her children she was active in Cub Scouts and Brownies. She was known for the dresses she made for her daughter and friends. She continued to use her sewing skills to help Crystal make Halloween costumes for the boys. When Crystal was activated for duty in the Army Nurse Corp during Desert Storm, Edna retired in order to care for her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years James Tate and her children Dave Tate and Crystal Clason. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Kathryn Tate and son- in-law Jamie Clason, grandsons Daniel (Colleen) Tate, Jared Clason, Kyle Clason, Evan Clason, and great grandchildren Ethan Tate and Evelyn Tate.
