David John Gezzar Sr. passed away November 26, 2012 at 10:30 pm to be at peace with the Lord. He was able to celebrate his 81st birthday on November 16th as well as Thanksgiving with family and friends.
David was a United States Marine Corps veteran that served in the Korean War. He worked for and eventually retired from Ford Motor Company as a tool and dye setter at the Walton Hills plant. At the same time, he worked with his father in-law; Joseph Criss in landscaping and then branched out on his own in 1959, naming his company “Dave Gezzar and Son Landscaping”, working with his family until the past spring when his heart began to fail.
David was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He leaves behind his wife of 57 years Julia Gezzar and his son David Jr. (Martha) and daughter Michelle (Robert) Best, his grandchildren; David M. Gezzar, Rachel (Curtis) Ungerecht, Joseph (Elizabeth) Gezzar, Nathaniel and Alexander Best and Olivia Gezzar, and his great grandchildren; Lily Gezzar and Kyla and Owen French. He also leaves his brother Michael (Mary) Gezzar.
David will be missed by family and friends for his loving devotion and forever faithful ethics.
A memorial service will be held in David’s honor at 9 am Saturday December 1, at the CATAVOLOS FUNERAL HOME 3653 W. Market St. Fairlawn.
