With her family by her side Kay peacefully passed away on July 9, 2015 at Georgetown Hospital. Beloved wife and best friend of David Dills for 64 years.
Kay will be forever cherished in the hearts of her daughter Kathleen
and her husband Steven Hartnagle, grandsons Joseph David (JD) and Matthew Dean. Her brother Warren Brown and his wife Janet and family; brother-in-law and sister-in-law James and Shirley Dills and family and the families of Clare and Frances Prosser.
Kay went to school in Toronto and graduated from the University of Toronto
in 1950 with a degree in Modern Languages. Choosing a career in journalism Kay came to Acton to work as a reporter and eventually editor of the Acton Free Press. She retired in 1979 and, with David, moved back to her family home and friends in Toronto. In 2004 Kay and Dave returned to Acton. With her deep family roots in Acton she became a proud writer of Acton history. Kay wrote and published with David many books. Kay lived a life rich in friends and family and was known for her celebrations at the cottage.
She loved reading a good book on the shores of Leonard Lake.
Friends are invited to join the family for a celebration of Kay’s life which will be held at the Acton Town Hall (19 Willow Street North, Acton)
on Sunday, July 12, 2015 from 2-4 p.m.
A private family burial to follow at a later date.
