He was born on September 20, 1935 in Hamilton County, Texas to the late Thomas Corbitt Edmondson and Maudie Mae Cole Edmondson. On August 30, 1969 he married Carlene White in Sweetwater. Ed was a fireman for the Abilene Fire Department and served from September 25, 1961 until his retirement on December 26, 1994. He was a member of Olin Baptist Church in Hamilton County and attended Trinity Baptist Church in Abilene for many years. Ed enjoyed livestock farming but his greatest love was being a husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Carlene Edmondson of Abilene; two daughters, Leslie Edmondson Cornwell and husband Brent of Heath, TX and Linda Edmondson DiGregory of Carrollton, TX; two sons, Jimmy Craft and wife Kendee of Hamby and Cole Edmondson and wife Cari of Abilene; grandchildren, Chase Edmondson DiGregory, Cameron Edmondson, Bristee Craft Bostick and husband Justin, Kallee Craft Spencer and husband Jacob and Casey Edmondson; great grandchildren, Bellemy, Everlee, Raelee and soon to be born, Hadlee. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Estelle Everston, Stella Lee, Bobbie Fleming and Dorothy Ham.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Monday evening at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at Trinity Baptist Church with Dr. Kevin Kennedy officiating. A private family burial will be at Elmwood Memorial Park.
