No funeral services are planned. Mrs. Lewis will be in-state for viewing and signing the register book during normal business hours on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Sarah was born March 12, 1909 to Nora Neal (Miller) and William Martin Noah in St. Joseph, Missouri. She attended school in St. Joseph. Sarah married James Elton Lewis on February 21, 1929 in Savannah, Missouri. They moved from San Antonio, Texas to Abilene in 1981. Sarah was known for her porcelain dolls that she made and collected. She was an excellent seamstress, making outfits for her dolls and designing and sewing many other items. Sarah's hands were never idle. If she was not sewing, she was painting statues of angels or working crossword puzzles. Sarah enjoyed people and listening to their stories and reminiscing with others about her life. She loved flowers and all things in nature. Sarah was a member of Pearl Chapter Number 529, Eastern Star in St. Joseph, Missouri, and VFW Auxiliary Number 6012 in San Antonio, Texas. She was a Presbyterian.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two daughters, Rita Lewis and Wanda Neal Evans; a brother, Eugene Noah; a step-brother, Richard "Bud" Moore; and two sisters, Helen Noah and Ann Davis.
Survivors include a son, Donald E. Lewis of Peterborough, England; three grandsons, John, Michael, and Mark Evans; and four great-grandchildren, Patrick, Cody, Cailin, and Hayley Evans.
