Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 Highway 277 South, Abilene, with Pastor Mike Woodard officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at a visitation 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Glenn was born October 17, 1926 to Mervyn Meeks and Ruby (Cannon) Meeks in Abilene, Texas. He graduated from Abilene High School. Glenn served his country in the United States Navy. He married Wanda Sue Partridge on April 4, 1947 in Munday, Texas. They made their home in Abilene where he was employed at the Abilene Municipal Airport as manager for forty years. After his retirement, Glenn traveled; enjoyed woodworking; and was a member of Abilene Channel Masters. He was a member of Southwest Park Baptist Church.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sue Meeks; a son, David Meeks; two brothers; and one sister.
Survivors include a son, Randall Meeks of Plano, Texas; a daughter, Melinda Garner and husband, Steve, of Bakersfield, California; and two grandchildren, Valerie Haver and Steven Garner.
