She will be laid to rest at a later date with her family at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sweetwater.
Johnnie was born on October 30, 1934, to the late Robert Elliott Harris and Genevieve (Carlton) Harris in Joshua, Texas. At a young age the family moved to Nolan County where she was raised alongside her five siblings. She loved sports and participated in all teams offered, and she was a 1954 graduate of Highland High School. She moved to Abilene and began working at TIMEX. She went on to work for numerous companies to include US. Brass, H.C. Zachery and Aileen’s.
She eventually settled in the Denton Valley Community south of Clyde where she loved country living. She gardened and took care of 30 acres of property she owned. She enjoyed spending time with her precious dog, Bodie. While in Abilene, she was a member of Crescent Heights Baptist Church and began attending Denton Valley Baptist Church. She loved her home and community.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William H. Harris and Bob Wylie Harris; sisters, Ima Armeda Watson and Iva Juanita Edwards; and two nephews, Russell and Gary Harris.
She is survived by her sister, Betty LaDean Henson of Baird and several generations of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by friends, Kelli Beach, Jason White, Robin Strong, Glenn Buxkemper and several special neighbors.
