Jimmy Wayne Sutton, 79, of Haskell, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022 in Abilene. He was born on March 21, 1943 in Ozona, Texas to the late Glenn David Sutton and Nettie Alleane (Couch) Sutton. Jimmy served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and had worked in the oil and gas industry from the age of 16 until his time of retirement at the age of 75. Jimmy was a very kind and generous man who was always there to help people. He never met a stranger and loved life. He loved many people, and loved them well. In return, he was dearly loved by many. He will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, JeanAnn Sutton; four children, Denice Moore, Sherry Nichols and husband Wayne; Trevor Sutton and wife Becki; Mikayle Arnold and husband Brandon; grandchildren, Ashlen Bannowsky, Garrett Murff, Zoe Moore, Andrew Arnold, Kipley Sutton and Jake Sutton; great grandchildren, Acie Bannowsky and Molly Jo Murff; brothers, Roy Sutton and Gary Sutton; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of very dear friends. He was preceded in death by a grandmother, Maudie “Mam” Couch; his parents; brother, Bobby Sutton and son-in-law, Jimmie Moore, who was also his best friend.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials in Jimmy’s memory be made to Hendrick Hospice, USO or St. Judes.
