Jeanelle Partridge Owen

Jeanelle had moved to Abilene, Texas from Salt Lake City after retirement as a teacher to spend time with her siblings, Faye Marie, Olive May, Helen, Sue, and Harold, the family re-united in 2005 then returned to Bangkok and resided with her son Michael, her other son David visited Thailand during this time, she is survived by her 2 sons, David & Michael, with 3 grandchildren, Oliver 8, Zoe 7 and Arthur 6 in Bangkok.

Jeanelle was married to Arthur Owen, Antarctic Explorer, Ronne Expedition of 1947 – 49, petroleum geologist, Vice President Somerset Oil & Gas Exploration Co. , traveled most of their married life, David Owen their first son was born in Santa Barbara, Venezuela where they resided for work for 4 years, afterward moving to Cuba and then to Yellowstone County, Montana, where their second son Michael was born, they moved to different states for various projects, eventually residing in Salt Lake City, from there Jeanelle moved to Abilene to retire.

During her retirement Jeanelle traveled often to China & South East Asia where eventually she spent the last 18 years of her life.

Some highlights of her life, in 2001, Jeanelle went climbing in the Himalaya mountains where she trekked from Pokrara, Nepal to Muktinat and Thorung La pass (17,769 ft. trekking over 200 miles past Annapurna, Dhauligiri to Manaslu.

Jeanelle lived 1 year in China, living in Shenzhen, Shanghai and Beijing and traveled across China from South to North and West to Eastern China, after leaving China, Jeanelle moved to Saigon, Vietnam, during this time traveled through, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, and resided in Thailand where she lived an active life visiting islands, rafting in the North and hiking through tropical jungles. Jeanelle chose life in Asia over with her 3 grandchildren.

Jeanelle, could snow ski, mountain climb, was an avid reader, a teacher a very caring person and mother who lived strongly within principles of responsibility and a very caring mother, she will be missed dearly.
