Darlene was born March 25, 1944, in Sweetwater, TX, to Sylvan Cavitt and Opal Robison Cavitt. She married Dan Echols on August 1, 1965. Family was the most important thing to her. She knew every family member and every single birthday and anniversary. She always made sure to tell you Happy Birthday! She loved crossword puzzles and if you needed to know how to spell a word, she was the one to ask. Darlene was a little woman with a loud roar and a strong will. Her heart was even bigger. She loved deep and unconditionally. Mother was most proud of her kids and she adored her three grandsons. She attended every single sporting event that Clayton and Stefen had. She would cheer them to victory loudly and proudly. They loved her deeply and always happy to see her there supporting them. She loved Landon and was so happy to become a grandmother again after 18 years. He was the light of her life. She will always be his “Sweet Pea”. Clayton, Stefen and Landon love you Grandy. She was dependable and the first one there if her family needed her and the last one to leave. Her loyalty was incredible. Mother, with great sorrow I let you go. With peace I know Steve was there to greet you! I love you! God Bless and I will see you again.
Preceding Darlene in death were her parents; her beloved son, Stephen Louis Echols; her sisters, Lois Teichelman and Melba Jordan; her three brothers, Brad, Glen and Jerry Copeland; and her nephew Rusty Glen Crane.
