Gay was born on April 28, 1928 in Quitaque, Texas. He was the oldest child of late Noah Chester Largent and Bertha Mae (Cridlebaugh) Largent. He grew up in the small mountain town of Paonia, Colorado where he was the Salutatorian of his graduating class. He lived and visited many countries around the world during his career while working for Ford Aerospace and IBM. After he retired, he then followed Karen’s work around the world. They eventually settled in Abilene, TX. Gay was a member of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church. He was also a former member of the Lions Club. He will be remembered for his upbeat personality, great sense of humor, unforgettable smile, piercing blue eyes and the many stories he loved to share of his life experiences.
