Dulcie "Dee" Rinard, 84, passed away Monday, March 26, 2012, at a local medical center. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 29, 2012, at Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Faith, 5701 Hwy 277 South with Rev. Jeanie Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at a visitation 5:00 to 7:00p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Dee was born June 9, 1927 to Walter King and Mable Bennie in Brownwood, TX. She was a very generous lady and would lend a hand to anyone who needed help. She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church.
Volunteering and being a member of several organizations kept her very busy. She was a Hendrick Medical Center Auxiliary Member, a VFW Post 2012 Auxiliary Member, a member of the Retired Military Wives Club, a member of the Key City Extension Club, a Family Services Volunteer, and also found the time to deliver Meals on Wheels with her husband, Leon. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother to her family.
Preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Michael Rinard; and one brother, Walter King.
Survivors include her husband, Leon Rinard of Abilene; her daughter, Janet McCowen and husband David of Abilene; her grandchildren, Mollie Steiwig and husband, Craig of Ft. Worth and Emily McCowen and fiancé, J. Ross Simmons of Shreveport, LA; and great-grandchildren, Chloe and Carly Steiwig.
