Carl Kenneth “Ken” Schwartz passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2014. Ken was born June 15, 1936 in Haskell County to C.V. and Katherine Schwartz. He graduated from Haskell High School. He was in the National Guard for four years. He married Sandra Ray Schwartz in 1958. They moved to Abilene in 1966. Ken was employed by the US Postal Service for 34 years. He married Karen McMillan Schwartz in 1999.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Kenny Schwartz.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; daughter, Kathy of Mesquite; two sons, Steve of Mesquite and Sam and wife, Tammy of Maybank; five grandchildren, Preston, Payton, Paxton, and Matthew Schwartz and Stephanie Ruscher; one great-granddaughter; two stepchildren, Christy Chamberlin and Craig McMillan; two step-grandchildren, Kyah and Mason Chamberlin; brother, Troy Schwartz and wife, Amy; one neice and two nephews; aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Services will be 10:00a.m., Wednesday September 24, 2014 at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 Hwy 277 South with Pastor Roy Mekschon officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials be sent to The Alzheimer’s Association at 301 Pioneer Dr. Abilene, TX 79605, or a favorite charity.
