In December of 1968, he moved with his family to Abbotsford, Canada.
Walter's passion in life was farming, and so, in 1973, he established what became Janzen's Berry Farm, starting with raspberries, followed by chicken (broilers), and blueberries.
He could grow just about anything and took great pleasure in having an immaculate farm and garden.
Walter died on January 1, 2022, at the age of 81.
He will be dearly missed by his extended family. He is survived by his sibling Vera Rodenstein, Irene (Hartmut) Kliewer, Krimhilde Prachnau, Else (Adolf) Penner, Gertrud (Hans) Schmid, Rudolf (Ulrike) Janzen.
