Nicholas Michael Holmberg

Nicholas “Nick” Michael Holmberg, a beloved son, husband, brother, and friend, passed away on September 15, 2023, at the age of 30. He was born on March 30, 1993, in Abbotsford, BC, to proud parents Phil and Michelle Holmberg.

Nick’s childhood was steeped in the joy of nature and sports. Growing up in Abbotsford, he cultivated a deep love for camping and fishing with his family and developed a passion for lacrosse into his teenage years. He was an intense and feared opponent across the Fraser Valley and carried this passion into adulthood.

Following his graduation from high school, Nick studied mining engineering at the University of British Columbia, graduating in 2016. After university, Nick embarked on a successful professional journey, working at Lehigh Hanson, Lafarge, and recently, Westshore Terminals. Nick earned the respect and admiration of his coworkers through the dedication and integrity he brought to his work.

In 2020, Nick married the love of his life, Dita, and they created a beautiful family with their two dogs, Graham and Honey. Nick’s marriage was a source of deep joy in his life, and his love and devotion to his family were unwavering. Nick’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him. His deep loyalty, great sense of humour, dedication to his work, and his love for family and friends will forever be cherished.

Nicholas Michael Holmberg was predeceased by his grandparents, Dave and Lee Holmberg, and his uncle, David Holmberg. He is survived by his wife, Dita, parents, Phil and Michelle, brother, Phillip, parents-in-law, Manneke and Mita, grandparents, George and Irene Beaulieu, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and colleagues.

The Holmberg family extends their thanks to the emergency trauma and ICU staff of Abbotsford Regional Hospital.
