Martin Emigh Chambers was ushered into the presence of his Lord peacefully at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital surrounded by family with his loving and adored wife Margaret at his side on December 28th, 2019. He is survived by his children Alex (Aimee) Chambers, Lucy (Chris) Lynett, Jason (Lisa) Moodie, and Melanie (Chris) Barclay as well as his seven grandchildren, Annika, Seamus, Declan, Rachel, Luke, Jacob, and Ralph. Martin will be missed by his sister Sharon Hamel and brother Bill (Hildegarde) Chambers. He is predeceased by his father William Chambers, mother Willetta (Emigh) Chambers, brother Vernon Chambers, and brother-in-law Martin Hamel.
Martin was born in Denver Colorado on February 14th, 1959. In Martin’s young life his family moved to Calgary, Alberta where he stayed for many years. In addition to raising a family and exercising his talents in the investment community, with a focus primarily on building meaningful friendships with clients, Martin volunteered his time in a number of different organizations throughout the years. He actively participated with political campaigns in his early adult life, was involved in Minor Hockey, and worked with Wood’s Homes Foundation.
Martin enjoyed golfing, travelling, and music. Recently, Martin treasured the time he and Margaret spent “jamming” on Friday nights with friends.
His optimism, joy and encouragement will be greatly missed.
A special thanks to the ICU team at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital for their wonderful care and support.
A service will be held at Heritage Alliance Church in Abbotsford, 3440 Mount Lehman Road at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 25th, 2020.
