Karen was a dear friend.
Talented knitter, crafter cook ,  grandmother and a great Mother. 
Her soft spoken voice, education and sense of humor made you listen to her every word. 
She is loved and missed.

They say the depth of grief is directly related to the depth of love. It feels like I’ve been hit by a Mack truck and the pain is impossible. Karen was my big sister, the one I looked up to and admired her strength of character and wisdom. She was my reality check through life’s ups and downs, and at the same time incredibly funny, always throwing out a remark to lighten the mood and have a good laugh.
People from ALL walks of life - young and old - felt seen and heard and loved by Karen. Her grandkids meant the world ❤️ and she always claimed bragging rights; she was amazing with everyone’s grandchildren, nieces and nephews, teaching them baking and knitting and sewing and gardening and having ‘bust up days’ where absolutely anything goes! If the depth of pain corresponds to how much we love someone, then at least I know I loved her so deeply. Karen used to tell me that when someone dies, she would try and take on one or two positive attributes of that person, so they would live on. I love this. Let’s do it for Karen ❤️

Karen was one of the most selfless humans I had ever met. I met Karen through Bradley and his family when they have moved into our town housing area. She used to pack all of us that you see in the photo into her truck, and all of our bikes and we would go down for bike rides to Stanley Park, etc. She was the most active grandparent in what felt like all of our lives. She will be greatly missed. I was just talking to her the other day about meeting my daughter, it breaks my heart that will never happen. I love you and I hope you are doing good up in heaven. You will never be forgotten, and my daughter will always know how much of an amazing person you were for me when growing up. ❤️ My thoughts and prayers go to Trevor and his family and Melanie and her family. I hope you all get through this extremely hard time. ❤️

The first time I met Karen was when she took Jessica, Trevor and I to Riverview and gave us a tour while telling us all the crazy stories. She was so full of love and laughter. When she found out I was moving to Holland she made sure to take me out for a lobster dinner. She was always so kind and caring. She will be greatly missed. ❤️

I was shaken and deeply saddened to hear about the sudden passing of Karen. I have fond childhood memories of her, her sisters and us playing in their fabulous backyard in Surrey. I saw Karen as an older and wiser sister. She will be greatly missed.
I will keep all of you, in the Cooper and McKinley family in my heart and prayers during this most difficult time.

Karen and me in nursing school. Graduation from RPN programme. Our relationship was born out of necessity, but became a lifelong bond. My heart is breaking. I will hold onto my memories and all the gifts that have come my way, because of her. Especially Al. Thank you Karen for being my best friend. 💕❤️

We are beside ourselves with grief losing Karen now, much too early.
