John 'Peter' Gauthier, a long-time resident of Abbotsford, BC and retired Vedder Transport driver, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 18, 2019, following a brief yet inspiring fight against brain cancer.

Born in Montreal, QC in 1957 to Gerald & Patsy Gauthier, Peter married his loving wife Karen on May 6, 1978. They relocated their young family to Abbotsford in 1985.
Prior to becoming a truck driver, Peter, a young entrepreneur, owned and operated two successful gas stations.
Peter has always had a passion for music, namely Rock and Roll. In his youth he was a talented drummer. He prided himself on his large collection of records and music trivia knowledge. Since his teenage years, Peter also had a love for motorcycles. In 1988 he purchased his dream bike, a 1981 Honda Goldwing. Over the following 2 decades he meticulously customized and accessorized his ‘wing’. He joined the Gold Wing Road Riders Association and earned his way onto the Canadian Wings Motorcade Drill Team, performing for charities across North America.
