Elizabeth Thiessen (Loewen) went peacefully to her Lord and Saviour on Friday, March 10, 2017. Elizabeth was born in Crowfoot, Alberta on November 29, 1928. She moved to Gem, Alberta in her childhood where she met her husband, George. The two were married on August 18, 1950. Elizabeth supported her husband as they worked in northern B.C, Morley, Alberta, Calgary and Surrey. They had two daughters, Edith and Kathy, and three sons Rick, Ed and Dennis. She was a gifted woman, skillfully managing her household, running a motel and working in a travel agency. She was an artist, poet, musician, a wonderful cook and baker. She was known for her hospitality. In retirement, she enjoyed travel and volunteered to work at Haggai Institute in Maui. Elizabeth knitted thousands of toques that were sent to needy people around the world through the MCC. Her devoted husband, her three sons, her nine grandchildren and their spouses and twenty great grandchildren will miss Elizabeth.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 11:00 am at Clearbrook MB Church, 2719 Clearbrook Road, Abbotsford. In lieu of flowers, the family would direct your donations to the MB Missions project in Ukraine that supports education.
