Dora Denis Ramos

After enduring a courageous battle against cancer in which she faced with dignity and faith, while surrounded by the love of her family, Dora Denis Ramos went home to be with Jesus on December 11, 2020 at age 68.

Dora was born to Ramiro and Marta Alvarez on February 13, 1952 in San Francisco Gotera, El Salvador where she and her seven siblings were raised.

Dora met Pedro in 1973 at Instituto Biblico Betel (Bible College), where she worked in the college bookstore. They married January 8, 1975 and went on to have 2 children, Jenny and Ronny. In 1980, the family moved to Costa Rica where she faithfully assisted Pedro in ministry. A few years later, on June 30th 1983, they moved to Canada to join the rest of Dora’s family in building a new life. From 1983-1994 Dora and Pedro pastored various churches throughout the province of Ontario. In 1994 they were led to minister at a new church in Washington state where they diligently served for three years, before returning to the province of British Columbia, Canada. Upon returning to Canada, Dora began working as a bookkeeper for Remax for 19 years where she was known for her attention to detail, big heart and fiery spirit. Dora was looking forward to a new chapter in her life and had a grand celebration at her retirement party on July 9, 2019.

In addition to being a loving mother, Dora also loved crocheting, sewing, gardening, traveling, walking her dog Austin and cooking Central American food for her grandchildren whom she adored. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her. It did not matter where Dora found herself, she would share the faithfulness of God, encouraging words and a joyful spirit.

Dora joins her father Ramiro Alvarez and baby sister Loida in heaven. She is survived by her husband Pedro, daughter Jenny Goertz

(Donavan), son Ronny Ramos (Brooke) and five grandchildren Jaden, Carson, Alana, Leah and Abby-Jill.
